Game Rules
Royal Worduel · How to play
The duel
You and your rival race to solve the same hidden five-letter word, live. The first player to solve it wins the round. You can see your rival's board filling with colors as they guess — but never their letters — so you always know how close they are.
Guessing
- You have 6 guesses per round. Every guess must be a real five-letter word.
- After each guess, the tiles show how close you are:
AGreen — right letter, right spot.
AYellow — in the word, but a different spot.
AGray — not in the word.
The clock
Each round has a 3:00 timer. Solve before it runs out. If nobody solves the word — six misses each, or time expires — the round counts for no one and the duel moves on with a fresh word.
Best of 3
- A duel is up to three rounds, with a new word every round.
- First player to win two rounds takes the duel.
- Leaving a duel in progress forfeits it to your opponent.
Entry & prize
- Both players pay the same coin entry to start a duel.
- The winner takes the prize — both entries combined.
- Friendly duels against friends are free exhibitions: no coins, no rating change.
- Coins are virtual items with no monetary value and can never be cashed out — see the Terms of Service.
Your rating (WMR)
- Winning raises your WMR; losing lowers it.
- Higher-entry tables unlock as your WMR climbs — bigger entries, bigger prizes.
Fair play
Real words only, no automation or third-party tools, no exploiting bugs. Accounts that break fair play can lose adjusted coins or be suspended — the full rules live in the Terms of Service.
